Wink 3/4 Ton leaf springs

I just found out that my Dak has 3/4 ton leaf springs out of an 06 Ram instead of the original ones from the factory. Since I picked the truck up a couple weeks ago I noticed it rode really rough. I finally had time to take it back to the dealer. That's when they informed the previous owner modified the leaf springs to handle a heavier load. Followed by the 3.9? gears. The bad news... 265/75/16's, hauling heavier loads then originally intended and swapped gears ALL on a V6!!! phew... just had to let you all know, anybody else heard of anything like this, or have these leaf's or gears?

3.92 gearing was a stock available option on our trucks, not sure about on the V6 though. Haven't heard of anyone swapping in leaf springs off the 3/4 ton, seems rather excessive to me as the 1500 springs should have still been a step up.

That's what I thought.. it is more or less like putting the 3.7 into a 2500?!?!? Oh well, I guess it's a "unique" upgrade. I wondered why my truck has some "zip", it was because I thought it was the 3.55...

Is the rear sitting awkwardly high? I would image it would be with a 3/4 ton leaf pack...

is the leaf pack the same length or something...it just bolted right up??

No the the rear end isnt that much higher. 35 inches in the back and 32.5 in the front. not that much difference. The leaf pack is 7/8 of an inch longer than OEM.

Oh, that wouldn't be too difficult to bolt up at all. This is actually good to know if anyone wants to make a Dakota Heavy Duty if they are big on towing and hitting that max payload.
