it would all depend on what setup you go with, leaf spring would be quite simple, a 4 link (or similar) would be a bit more involved but its not terriable, but either way, i'm sure it could be done for less the $3k, maby even a lot less

Every so often someone stumbles across this, unfortunately as Eric pointed out it's definitely Buyer Beware with these guys. Everywhere you look you find people having serious issues with their stuff. I wouldn't even put AIM Industries/AirbagIt/ChassisTech parts in the bed to transport somewhere, that stuff can stay well away from my truck.

Personally, if I had felt i needed a 4x4, and a lift, I probably would of went the body lift route, and got the largest meats that I could fit under the truck.
It's late in the game, I have not seen a dakota on a dodge dealership lot in a long time, there pretty much done. I wouldn't expect a lift kit to ever be made. This isn't the only dodge 4x4 that hasn't gotten a kit. The durango guys suffered too. Hell, only the 2nd gen dakotas pre-rack and pinion have a lift kit, so I think anything past 97 or 98 they don't have a kit either. They do a torsion crank and add a leafs or blocks...
Go body lift, hide the rails with some step up bars with custom mounts that tuck em up higher to hide the frame. Throw on your big tires, and enjoy your truck. The body lift price goes up and up every year. Pretty soon those will be extinct too. And for you guys with a 6-speed manual, the body lift kit will work, you just ask them for the extension from the 2nd gen dakota, and they will give it to you. The R&D department simply never tested the kit on a manual tranny, and they weren't sure if the shifter had changed from 2004. It Hasn't (same metal). You can weld in a piece NP.
