There was a guy on cardomain.com that used that lift from airbaggit on his 3rd gen dak and posted pics and everything.

I contacted him for an update on the truck a while back and never answered me!!

I've been on several forums looking at lifts and such and have heard nothing but bad about truckinsuspension.com (or AIM or something tech as it seems to be the same song and dance) I went with the PA 3" body and the daystar leveling kit and am perfectly happy. Most forums said you couldn't go 34" but I'm running 285/17/17 Terra Grapplers on Dick Cepek DC2s and didn't have to trim too much out of the front bumper. I did have to take off the flaps though

the dakota can be lifted, ive been talking to a guy at www.michiganmetalworks.com they make custom control arms for slammed dakotas and he that they can make me control arms with 1" uni ball's, all you would need to do is find a good fab shop to make a drop cradle and it'll be good.

I know 2006 dodge ram 4x4 shocks fit dakotas but u need more travel and a wider upper control arm.

I have also heard that if you send total chaos (http://www.chaosfab.com/) your stock upper control arms they will fab you some good lifted ones.

when my truck is payed for and my aftermarket warranty is up im gonna lift it correctly without spacers and all the B/S

It's not that easy. We've already tried doing "1 uniball arms with the cup being a bigger diameter than the stock balljoint. You can't just build uniball control arms and lift the truck. Stuff still hits. And ive never heard of total chaos making you arms without looking at the truck. And also you can't just throw high angle arms and drop the lower arms with a cradle because it changes the geometry and you would need to make a taller spindle and the bigger the gap between the upper and lower arms, the worse off you ride will be. That's why drop cradle lifts are never recommended over true coil lifts

It failed by the weekend as i was driving into my favorite fishing lake on the gravel road. unless you plan to just drive your truck to wallmart on dry pavement ... it isn't worth buying a lift that will fail. Also .. it ruined my wheel bearing hub, lower ball joint and outer tie rod. I did a complete front end rebuild and went back to stock and back to the plush stock ride not a stiff lift kit. Because of the geometry of the swingarms and drive shafts...a real 4x4 lift will not be a cheap one, you need different front axels with more movement, different upper control arms and a new longer strut that is strong not like the Chassis tech one that snapped off at the top.

My suggestion is to add 2" max front spacers for your struts to save your front end components from damage..then add air bags in the back to add a little bit of ride height and use a air pig to increase air capacity and add a softer ride to the back.

i have 32" Goodyear Wrangler Territory tires on my truck on a stock suspension...it goes everywhere i need it to go and it looks good with oversize tires. With that said, i have rebuilt my entire front end twice .. including new power steering rack, pump, ball joints, wheel bearing hubs, struts, upper control arms lower ball joints and tie rod ends.

Big tires = Big problems. I like my tires and i'm willing to keep replacing parts as i do a lot of camping and fishing .

Hope i shed a little insite on some issues.

Maybe they improved the design but it just seemed like they just threw some parts in a box and sent it to me .. no instructions warnings,,,nothing . good thing i only put eneough pressure to get 2.5" of lift or it couldof been worse when the spring popped the head off the strut.
