Default 2007 Dodge Dakota radio/speaker questions

Okay guys, i am loving everything about my truck except the radio. It has the aux port which i love because i use my ipod all the time and would have replaced the factory radio to get one. What i am noticing though, is that for some reason when you turn the radio up slightly loud..not loud enough to make the speakers fart or anything, but loud enough to hear it clearly with the windows down, sometimes my back speakers shut off for a few seconds, then kick back on. Is the audio system designed this way, or do i have a problem? If the system is designed this way, could i replace just the head unit to get this to stop, or would i have to replace the speakers also?

Thanks for any insight.

My speakers on the passanger side always cut out for a second when playing music about #20. The sound coils were shot ..... figures for factory paper speakers.

A new set of polks fixed the problem for me. Now when ever I hear a song skip, its because of the CD player.

Yep blown speaker or loose wire. Swap the two rear speakers, if the problem moves it is the speaker, if it doesn't it is wiring.

thats because it puts a load on the electrical system, takes a lot of current to operate the window regulators, thats also why there are circuit breakers instead of fuses for the power window circuits. His issues are with the speakers and it sounds like the rear channels are overdriving and cutting off, cooling down and cutting back on, this could be in the amplifier circuit of the radio or the speakers themselves.
