Exactly...but make sure they do it right. Be wary that making deals with them makes them think they can skip some **** here and there (not all shops, but some). I did this with the shop that fixed my truck and they tried to screw me.

The at fault driver's insurance company is paying for everything, and i'm not sure if i want to do that because of the reason baracis said, i don't want them to do a half here half there job, but your right if we did have to pay for it that could save a lot of money. I'm going to talk to them tomorrow and see how much it will cost if any to get the bumper color matched, i'm sure it will look a lot better when it's all fixed because i miss my truck already lol

Nope! Surprisingly not. I was going about 35 but i'm kind of glad they didn't go off because it probably would have made matters worse because i'm completely fine. Luckily i was wearing my seat belt!

wow, i guess they have the sensors either buried in the bumper real well or they are calibrated to go off at a much higher g force than a 35 mph crash generates. I've seen some go off from a fender bender.

Sorry to hear that man but at least you're ok and the truck won't be too bad to fix. When I had my rollover I just asked the body shop to order the primered bumper without the chrome strip and paint it, the bumper was cheaper and I just paid the cost of paint (minus what we saved vs the chrome strip w/grey bumper). They'll also be likely to give you a break some on the paint if they have to repaint any panels already since they have to mix the color no matter what.

haha i was going to take a picture of her car but i was kind of pre-occupied with dealing with the insurance company, police, the other driver, witnesses, my parents, and letting my hockey coach know i would be missing practice. the whole thing was kind of overwhelming lol the accident happened only 5 minutes from the rink i play hockey at. just my luck...

the shop hasn't been open this weekend but i am going in there tomorrow after school and talking with them. my dad already called them friday and asked something about it but someone said paint would not adhere to the bumper and it wouldn't work but i find that somewhat hard to believe because i read about people painting their bumpers all the time
