Default Got in an accident :(

Hey Guys! Sorry I Haven't been on here in awhile, i've been busy with work and school, haven't been able to do much upgrades to the truck since senior year is a crazy one. For those that don't know me i'm only 17 and I received this truck as a gift for christmas last year.

On my way to hockey practice Wednesday, rain started coming down pretty hard and things got worse from there. I was rounding a tight, blind curve going only about 30-35 ( about 10 mph under the speed limit ) in the inside left lane and an older lady in a porsche boxter was in the oncoming traffic turning lane. Apparently she did not see me and pulled right in front of me about 20 feet from my truck and was doing a uturn, and just stopped. I had no time to stop and someone was beside me so i could not swerve. I locked the brakes up and hoped for the best, but i slammed right into her.

Luckily I had witnesses and she was later determined as the at fault driver, which provided somewhat good news on an already bad day to me and my parents. Her car ended up with a bent rear axle, completely caved in trunk, and both rear fenders smashed in. Total damage to hers was $8000, mine only with $2500. Dropped the truck off at the body shop yesterday, hopefully i get it back next week. Pics up soon!

...And people wonder why I prefer to drive a truck!

Now you can tell everyone that your truck is a Porsche killer! Glad you came out no worse for wear. Hopefully the body shop will have you back on the road in no time!

Now's the time to try and work in a deal for a painted bumper! I got my grille painted black after my wreck.

I really want to get it color matched to the body. Will it cost extra if we ask them to do that?

Talk to the body shop and see what they can do for you. For example; you can get a bumper without the chrome moulding and that will save you a good chunk of money. Get an aftermarket grille off ebay, and theres more money saved. Also, tell them they can use "junkyard" parts off salvaged vehicals to fix everything underneath the bumper cover. Its a give and take kind of thing. It may end up costing you an extra $100-$200, but its well worth it IMO.
