Does anyone know if anything over a 50 shot would be "safe" with superchips. The only reason im looking into nitrous is because i want more power and im on a budget.

While nitrous may seem inexpensive, at first, it gets expensive very quickly.

Consider bottle re-fills at between $60 and $100 depending on what your local shop charges, it won't take many bottles to add up, quick. Add the price of the kit to start with, and you can see how your money would be better spent elsewhere.

Have you installed headers, better flowing exhaust, higher flowing intake, better cam, etc? These are the places I would start, long before going nitrous, then I would look at supercharger or turbo, before nitrous as well.

Forget the headers on these engines....but i agree with the rest. Unless you're just dead set on nitrous.

As far as other mods h/o cams should be installed within a month headers and cats are soon to follow. Im not dead set on nitrous im just tryin figure out how well it will work and if its actually worth the money. And yes a turbo will be alot better than nitrous but i cant just drop 3+k on my truck in one shot.

Yea man, don't worry about buying headers...it's really not worth the money spent unless you're building a race engine. I think KRC is selling a single turbo kit for $2,999...if you can save up for that.

I think headers and hi flow cats would be good with h/o cams.

They run about $400 and you will see very minimal gains...not to mention how much of a pain in the *** the bolts can be. If you install them, more power to ya, just not for me.

Headers will prolly be last but h/o cams and true duals are a must.

I disagree on the headers. I had to take off the manifolds to replace broken bolts, so I decided to put JBA shorties on. I did not expect much, but was pleasantly pleased with the power gain and how smooth it is. I had already added duals (from the Y back) and the headers did make a good difference. I did not replace the Y pipe..yet

I was not that impressed with Superchips, I sent it back. I think the headers were a better investment..just my 2 cents.

On another note...my MAP sensor was screwed up (no codes until I went to clean the oil gunk out of it). I replaced it and the truck runs like it never did before!
