Default Looking back on this morning...

ugh. I bumped mirrors with a guy this morning

the housing is loose, and needs to be replaced because the mounting tabs broke.

the mirror....toast.

I did a quick search and found some online for like $30-40, but that can't be right, can it?

Anyone ever replaced one of these things?

There shouldn't be any power to it, it's just a simple mirror, so it should be just a bolt and go (once I find the right bolts).

2006 Dodge Dakota ST 4x4 and the extended cab (with the suicide doors, not the full doors, what is that "crew"? "club"? neither my crew nor my club fits there, but my fishing stuff does....)

Club cab...that price sounds about right for a non-powered mirror. Do you have any junk yards around? Might find one cheaper there and you can practice removing one off a junked truck first (providing it is one of those u-pull it places). You should be able to pop off the door trim to get to the mounting bolts.

I'm with jkeaton ! Also that mirror that you found is a direct replacement that meets the D.O.T. specs. is not a Mopar factory replacement but is as good as it gets without paying the Mopar premium....

Yeah, depending on how picky you are a Mopar may be your best best whether its from a junk yard or a online dealer where you can normally get really competitive prices.

With having one factory one, you may be able to see a difference in textures in the two mirrors when looking at the truck from the front.

Thanks guys!

so, I pushed the mirror back on cracked and all. it's holding the housing on in place so I look legal! I currently have about 15 different views of what's behind me

I also ordered the autozone mirror for about $50, and it should be here on Tuesday, so I'll have it replaced for my hunting trip this weekend! *whew*
