Default 2008 tire size

I know there are a few theads discussing tire size, but all the answers I see are 2007 and under...anyone know what the biggest size tire is that will fit on a stock 2008?

Tire rack lists 265/70/16 as an optional tire size, will they fit with no tire rub on a nonlifted or leveled truck?

Also, anyone running Definity Dakato A/T's? $114 a tire, and Pep boys does the buy 3 get 4th free, quoted me 4 tires installed with road hazard for a shade over 400. Same wear, traction, and speed rating as the BFG's, and the tread pattern looks so close I can't imagine why someone hasn't been sued. just wondering if anyone is running them. Also thought its kind of cool to have a Dakota tire on well...a Dakota.

It's the same tire size for all 3rd gens (05-11).

265/70/16 will fit on with stock suspension without any modification.

265/75/16 will fit with a leveling kit and will also require some trimming due to rubbing. How much trimming depends on the tire that you choose.

Ok, I stand corrected. I always thought we all had the same clearance.

He had a 2008 Dakota SXT 4X4, upgraded to a Ram 1500 a while back. Not sure if he is still active here on DF.

Welcome aboard.
