Default Anyone Running 285-75-16?

Here is what I have done so far...

Front Strut Spacer - Gave me an actual 2.75 inch on the front.
Rear Add-a-Leaf - Gave me 1.75 inch in the back
PA - 3 Inch Body Lift.

Total of 5.75 inch of lift in the front and 4.75 inch in the back... Front is still overall 1 inch lower then the back.. was originally 2 inches lower then back.

Truck looks great... original size is 245-70-r16... pathetic..
I put a used set of 265-75-R16 A/T on it and they measure 31 inch, they are worn and fit with lots of room...

I am looking to order BFG MT KM2's can decide to go with the
265-75-R16(31.9inch) or the 285-75-R16 (33.1 inch)...

I am looking to do some real off-road with this thing and would love to get the 33" on but will work the suspension and do not want too much trimming but will trim a bit if needed.

Anyone running a setup this big and can comment ???
I will post pics once I get the tires on...

Thanks for any help you guys can provide!

You should be fine to run 285s.

Which front strut spacer are you using, and how long have you been using it? Have you seen failures in tie rods, ball joints, and sway bar end links yet?

Default No issues yet with the spacer.

I have the one that goes above the strut and not in with the spring... I know that is not what people seem to recommend on this site but I did not want to tighten up the front springs too much seems like it will make for a crappy ride.

I have only had it installed for a month or so... Everything is good still... from what I read though I may be in for a rack at some point... I have a full shop I can use at any time so not worried about tie rods and ball joints they are cheap to change yourself.. If the rack goes I may look at making up some kind of custom bracket to lower it a couple of inches to correct the angle on it..

Have you had failures? It seems we have the same year / model of truck..

No failures yet. My levling kit is a TM 1.5" that goes between the perch and strut hat, not between the hat and the spring. What brand of leveling kit did you use? I'm not aware of anyone that makes a 2.75". I know Rough Country makes a 2.5" kit for the 2WDs. Also, do you have an Automatic or 6-speed?

Here is the link to them on ebay... this same guy sells a 2.5 and the 3...
http://cgi.ebay.ca/2005-2010-DODGE-Dakota-3-LIFT-LEVELING-KIT-2WD-4WD-/250701781214?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories &fits=Year%3A2006|Make%3ADodge|Model%3ADakota&hash =item3a5efd98de

I went with the 2.5 inch but ended up with 2.75.... when i did the before and after... did not want to go with the 3 because I am worried about stressing the rack too much..

Mine is a Automatic...

I would be interested to see what kind of longevity is associated with your front suspension given the amount of lift you are seeing. Keep us posted!

i have 285/75/15,s on my truck with a T.M. leveling kit up front and the rest of your setup, and i needed to trim a little up front on the factory mud flap.... you will be fine....i now have factory flares on and there is more clearance than with the flaps, so if you go with an agressive M/T tread, you might wanna go this route too
