It depends on what youre looking for; horsepower or torque. Before my exhaust, with just a Superchips I could get the truck sideways around any corner I wanted. Trying to get the truck to 100mph though was HARD to do without a lot of road. After the exhaust with the only other mod being a superchips, it was hard to get the tires to chirp going around a corner. But the top end is awesome now; shes a screamer. (I love a screamer!) And after a few other mods, my power has leveled itself out throughout the RPMs.

Basically, if youre doing dual and want to keep the low end, nothing more than 2 and 1/4" pipes are recommended; for a single exit, 3" is the max recommended.

My MBRP is dual 2.5" pipes. I figured there was still enough restriction with the factory manifolds and cats. Im replacing my Y-pipe this spring.

HAHA! thats a good one...NOT....jk....actually, she does not want to drive the truck anymore. (YAY!) so she's stuck with the Mom's Dodge. Do you have limited slip? All I can do with mine is spin the inside tire going around a turn....I can't get it sideways.. (maybe I'm not trying hard enough?)

I have the Gibson single in , single out 3". Sound almost stock until you nail it. Has a throaty sound at partial and WOT. Normal driving it sounds stock.

Glad to hear the truck is safe! Sorry for the "not so funny" joke, lol. And yes, limited slip w/ 3.55 gears. You do have to whip it pretty good, and the Firestone Destination A/Ts didnt like spinning too good for me. (I know you have those right now) With the BFGs, since they are a square tire I can get them spinning from a dead stop which isnt too good for my $900 tires Every time I hear a chirp, I think in my head .... there goes another dollar worth of rubber.

I'm still trying to figure out why people are saying the Y-pipe is restrictive.

It's one of the largest I have seen on a stock vehicle of this type.

You should look at some of the Chevy truck Y-pipes, easpeiacially the early '90s trucks, 2nd gen S-10s, now THOSE are restrictive.

Just because its one of the largest on this type of vehical doesnt mean its not a restrictive piece of our exhaust system. Here is why our y-pipe is classified as restrictive:
