Default Brake Squeal

Does anybody have this problem? If so how do you get rid of it? I am planning on greasing them up, just not sure if that will work. TIA guys.

Its' one of two things. 1. there's a metal tab on the break pad that will squeal when the pads are worn down. 2. Depending in what type of pads you installed. Some will squeak. How many miles do you have on the breaks? Grease???? what are you planning to grease? Grease and breaks not a good combination.

many things can contribute to brake squeal so it's kinda a tough question. Is it coming from the front or back? Have you checked the pads/shoes to make sure they are not worn out and the wear indicator is making the noise (pads) or the rivets are not digging into the drums? Are these aftermarket shoes/pads? If they are not original, was the grease (anti squeal compound) used on the contact parts (slide pins, etc, not the pads) to reduce the vibrations that cause squeals? when you say "greasing them up" what are you referring to? the rotors, drums? That could be a bad idea...lol. Need more background info please.

has it been doing it for awhile or did it just start? First thing is to pull the wheel(s) off and give it a good visual inspection.

Wagner makes a good pad that I have never had any problems with on my Camaro and other cars.

My truck does the same exact thing! I took it to 2 different mechanics and they said the brakes and rotors are fine.
