Default Aftermarket shock & strut question

This was probably asked before but I can't spend 2 days searching the forums. What I'd like to find out is out of the guys who have put new shocks/struts on your Daks, what are you opinions of them? Monroes/Rancho/KYB, pros/cons etc.

Also, has anyone upgraded their shocks and struts on a TRX4 yet? The Monroes look pencil thin but I almost never get off road (have a quad for that) so I don't know if I'm willing to spend the extra coin for Ranchos. Just looking for some first-hand feedback.

Thanks I appreciate it!

I have Ranchos all the way around. Really love the way the front end is a lot more stable on rough roads or washboards....I dont notice much difference in the rear since I run the bed empty most of the time. But while towing a trailer with 2000-3000 pounds on it, they are a lot more stable.

Overall, I am very happy with the Ranchos...

Went with the Rancho's, my truck handles sooooo much better, you can't imagine the difference until you've gotten rid of the OEM 's. The front end was bouncing pretty bad, now I don't worry at all when seeing bumps or dips in the road. I can roll over any ripped up road with confidence. The Rancho's are definitely more stiff than the OEM's, but even with my 20's, I love the way it handles now. Best $$$ spent on the truck!

I replaced the rear shocks also, didn't really need em, but I figured do all 4 together.

Default Length of Shock with Leveling Kit

If you are replacing Dakota shocks, and you have a leveling kit (i.e. Trailmaster), is it necessary to order a longer shock? Since the lift is 2" or less, I would not think so, but would like to hear from the voice of experience. Thanks.

There are not different struts used with a leveling kit. It is the same part # as stock height.
