I was at Luke years ago ('94-'95)... F16 crew chief I was in the 61st.
I'm guessin not much has changed around that place.... Used to be a bar right across from the base, think it was called the sands?? I blew through a few paychecks at that place...

I work avionics on the F-16s The sands it's here anymore. but a good bit has changed. the 63rd and 61st are now closed. there is now a bridge that connects the two sides of the base. there is alot more built up around the base now it not in the middle of now where like it used to be(from what I was told) i'm sure a few other things have changed. what do you do in bluefield? I grew up in Rockport WV (just south of parkersburg) oh and we are getting the F-35s in a few years

It used to be out in the middle of nowhere... and if went out the gate (from the flightline side) and took a right, there used to be a nudist colony about8-10 miles up the road. I doubt anyone there still knows the stories but we caused a lot of ****e when I was there... everything from the "keg car" to using a water balloon slingshot and shooting oranges at the cacti. and FYI, an orange shot out of a water balloon slingshot will stick to a cactus...its also impossible to retrieve said oranges 30ft up on the cactus no matter WHO is coming in for a base visit.

As for me in Bluefield, my current catch-all-cover-all job title is "Electro-mechanical technician" and I cover 4 states...
