Default 2005 or 2007?

I'm deciding between a 2005 Quad Cab SLT V8 4x4 with a price tag of 15,000 and 53,000 miles and a 2007 Quad Cab ST v8 4x4 with the same price of 15,000 and it has 87,000 miles. I'm inclined to go with the '07 because it's newer but it also has 30k more miles on it. Are there any huge advantages between the two? The '05 is also the SLT as opposed to the ST so there are some advantages there. Thanks for the help.

just all on you want...do you want newer with more miles or older with fewer miles? i would honestly go with the 05 but thats because i always look at miles! and then again i've never bought a used vehicle ever so i dont think i'd even bee looking at em but if i was its all about mileage to me!

If the '05 is the slt get that one. Also since it has so few miles for what year it is, it's probably in better condition overall. Also, I don't think there were many improvements between '05 and '07.

Great thanks guys! Looks like I'll be putting an offer in on the '05. Once I buy it I have a feeling I'll be putting in some time on here!

The early models had some front end wear problems .... but last time I checked so did the 07s. I would go with the 05 SLT. The only advantages with an 07:

Flex fuel was available with the V8s (More like a disadvantage for performance)
You can get a hypertech tuner vs a Superchips. It adds some more HP, but hypertech has no transmission tuning. You would be fine with an 05, IMO.

The last difference may be a painted front bumper on the 07 vs the 05 having a gray bumper. Im not a big fan of the gray bumper on my 05 SLT, but the advantage to it is if I bump something, theres not paint to scratch. It also doesnt chip from rocks and all the highway driving. Its a give and take.

Alright guys you convinced me. I went down to the dealer and purchased the '05!! I got it for $15,700 out the door. It's the SLT with only 51,000 miles on it. In excellent condition with the chrome bumpers and a few added interior extras. How'd I do? Oh and brand new tires and factory rims that come on the SLT. I pick it up tomorrow, they are putting new brakes and realigning it for me as we speak!! I can't wait!!! I'll post pictures when I have it in hand.

Even though you've already made the deal this is my input:

Miles mean squat. There was a time when high milage was something to be concerned with, but with how cars are made now, even at higher milage the vehicles will still have a long life ahead of them. My '05 that I got a few months ago as 291000 KMs (approx 182000) miles. It runs and drives great. I got it for a steal, because it needed a tranny and a rad.

That being said, I would go with the '05 since it's an SLT.
