I'm not worried about changing wiring, since I've worked on automotive wiring for a couple decades now, most of that time as a profession. I just haven't had a chance to look at the wiring itself to see if it will support 100w bulbs for an extended period of time.

I've thought about getting some 80W bulbs, but I already have these 100w bulbs, that have never been used, other than the few minutes the one was in as a test.

I never had a wiring issue woth the 100 W in the fogs, but did have an issue in the headlights running 100/85W 9008 Noyka's (sp) . About every 8 monthsI'd have to replace the right side headlight plug, but never the left... Strange huh? Since I have stock wattage super white bulbs and am very satisfied with the beam pattern I'm getting.

omg this is soo worth it.. and it looks awesome. my st looks like an slt now. with those fog lights it also makes the truck look bigger at night. ive tried both the 40w factory bulbs... and i also janked a couple 65w bulbs from the cadillac i cut the plugs out of. and ive been running those.. major difference. its like having hi and lo on at the same time with the 65w 9005 bulbs. as far as melting. im pretty sure the lenses are glass or a durable plastic and the bulb sits really far back in the housing. I will Post Pictures of the install sometime this week.

And yes I know

You guys do realize that the 9005 is concidered a Highbeam Headlight .. so in your fog light housing you will basically be Highbeaming EVERY car on the road if you drive with your fog lights on ...

It shows those tuners with their crappy HIDs whose boss! They can suck it.

Jkjk. Ive had a few cold ones. I would make sure your fogs are aimed down far enough if you want to run these bulbs. Or atleast trade cars with someone and drive at eachother on a back road.

the beam pattern on our fog lights is extremely wide. they are no brighter than the headlights. plus they are 8 inches off the ground so unless their driving with their face on the pavement its not a problem......

Oh, I hear you on that. Ill never work retail or food again. Lol. Customer service or anything dealing with the general public isnt much better.

So what modifying did you have to do to get these to fit? Im hoping Im lucky like shooter and can just put them in with no extra effort.
