Did you figure anything new out with the slipping? I have almost the same exact issue, I noticed it also when it started getting cold out. Mine seems to happen the worst while stopped pointed uphill and then taking off normal speed. Some days it will do it all day, and then not again for a week. It will occasionally throw a code but it usually goes away after its been turned off for a bit, I need to get it read but havent had the chance. I've got an extended warranty and they said to take it in to see what the mechanic says, but I would like to have an idea so I dont have same issue you had where they cant find anything wrong on that day.

Damn, mine has done this the past 2 days (temps in the mid 30's). Put it in reverse in the am, and about 5 seconds before it moves. I'm thinking yet another personality trait of the '05.

I took the truck in on Monday and they said they couldnt find anything wrong, even though they had codes to go by. The 2 codes I had was a hydrolic pump prime loss and a pressure switch rationality. I had them drop the pan to see if anything was wrong. Filters were in place, fluid looked good, and there were no shavings on the magnet. He noted he had a guy having a slipping problem with the 545rfe a few weeks ago, but that his fluid smelled burned. Mine had no funny odors or color, so check you fluid for sure. If it smells burned, he said it would be a serious problem requiring a rebuild most likely.

They ended up replacing the switch that they swapped out last week for a brand new one. They also replaced both filters with genuine Mopar. Ive had the fluid and filters changed there before, but Im guessing they were either aftermarket or old Mopar ones. There is a TSB out for this tranny, and its the filter that is on the return line from the cooler allowing fluid to drain from the torque converter, and that will cause slipping/delayed engagement in the morning.

Ive driven it every day this week and no slipping yet. It may be too early for the fat lady to sing though.
