With the new 4.7l came a DBW throttle body and a new air hat, so I wouldnt assume its the same.
As you said there has been some changes, i tried installing mine today on my 3.7 but its a K&N.....I counld'nt get the intake tube with the cone to fit with the heat shield and the support bracket all together and the temperature sensor barely fit, I should have checked to see if they made one for 2009 before buying one that said for the 2008, i guess they base it off the earlier model =/...Do you guys think there will be an issue without a heat shield? besides the fact of losing HP?

why buy it when you can spend 10 bucks and buy night shad and do 1 or 2 coats and have the same look! look through my photos and look for the rear end updated picture you'll see the 3rd brake light with NS on it!

The only major thing to watch out for is big puddles if you dont feel comfortable with getting it wet. In reality, it shouldnt hurt anything if it does get wet, as long as it doesnt get submerged.

I was more concerned about the warm/hotter air, I'm gonna try to see what i can do on warmer day to try to extend it down and try to get the heat shield on again also just in case for water exposure

Yeah, sure is a shame to buy a K&N and then not even be able to use the heat shield. Im sure whatever you do, if you dont use the heat shield you probably could sell it to someone with a DIY intake.

Dodgetrucker, what CAI do you have? Do you have cruise control? Last night after posting that message saying it will work, Injen wrote me back saying it will only work on the dakotas with out cruise control.
