I probably could make some good money when it snows here. Pull people out of ditches for some cash .... most of them only slide in. Its not like they bury it.

Kent, dont talk about rear ends. Dakkota might get excited again ..... you saw what happened when he saw "girl" in someones screen name ....

That's just because that's how they happened to be hanging that day. The shackles on the truck are really high capacity, so the pin is like three times longer than the hole in the mount. Had I used smaller shackles like the ones I pictured above, they'd hang straight, but I'm an overkill kinda guy, LOL.

I was going to do them like I did the ones on the Jeep so they would hang straight and not clang, but didn't have any automotive hose with a big enough diameter for those huge pins. Thinking about it, I bet a couple of pieces of snipped garden hose would be perfect...

Just look under there first because people claim that when they try to remove the bolts for the hooks, they just spin. So Im not sure what holds them on behind there, or if there is even open access to it.

Yeah its the bolts for the front body mounts I had a BI**H of a time getting them out to put on my body lift. lots of liquid wrench, a screwdriver, a wrench, and about 2 hours. the top bushing is the "nut" for the bolts.

My truck did not come with them. I used an impact to get the bolts out. Only took a few minutes to install.

However, I like Hammer's route. I think I will be heading that way as well.

OK, y'all got me thinking on it so I went out today and made some washers out of an old garden hose I had that the damn squirrels chewed through this past summer. The diameter was just about perfect for the pin on those great big shackles I have on the truck. They hang perfectly straight and don't wobble much at all now.
Was getting dark when I finished, so I'll have to snap a pic tomorrow and change my sig pic, LOL...
