Does this mean a "thumbs down" on the magnaflow system?

I am going to talk with Magnaflow this week about the system. The system is really nice, very clean, great welds. I doubt that my truck is one of the random something changed, but its possible. I think they need to take a second look at the system, cause something is not right.

I will keep you posted as to what they have to say about the system.

If you are looking for a direct fit system this one is not for you. All the exhaust hangers lined up great, but either the muffler is not long enough or the pipe from the y-pipe to the muffler is not long enough.

The sound is pretty close to the MBRP sound.

It's too bad about the PITA installation, but in the end the duals looks great! And what do mean the sound is not that impressive? Not loud enough for ya?

I had the same issue with my generic ebay system. The front pipe was almost a foot too short. I had to go and buy an 18" extension pipe to fill the gap. I think it has something to do with some trucks having dual resonators and some trucks only having one. If they fabbed their system on a truck with only one resonator, us two resonator dudes are sol. Of course, if your truck only had one resonator then this theory is out the window...lol.

The sound not being that impressive, I mean I thought it would be a louder deeper tone.

My system did have dual resinators so I don't know, will call them Monday

Give it a week, or even a month, drive it and it should get a bit louder.

So I was able to talk with the tech at Magnaflow today. Let me say first off the guy was very nice! I was not expecting that. We walked through every piece that came with the kit to see if something was made wrong. We did not find anything that was off besides that there info shows that the crew cab and club cab both came with a 6'6" bed. All the dimensions he had for the pipes and muffler are the correct length per there system. I worked on taking photos with dimensions of my hanger locations and and locations of the end of the y-pipe, and some other odd and end dimensions they requested. They are going to compare them to the photos, and dimensions that they have and come up with a solution for me. I told him that I had already modified my hangers to make the system work and he understood. The hangers out of the box are all in the correct location which was amazing. I explained to him that I was calling more as a customer survey call to see if anyone else had issues, or at least record the issue so if further customers have issues they can address the problem.

All in all amazing and knowledgeable customer service.
