I have an 08 Dakota SXT V6 4X4. My rad fan runs all the time as well. It also never reaches the normal half way temp. Which I am assuming is not a bad thing. I am in Ontario Canada and its really hot summer right now. Just got the truck last month. Its awesome
I got a 05 V6 2WD, and like above, it never reaches half way, Even towing a few hundred pounds. (never towed more then 600lbs yet lol)
Even on really hot days, it never does, or driving 600km from Nova Scotia to Prince Edward Island (With only one stop for 10minutes.)
Also never noticed my fan stop spinning either.
I have seen that the fan is mechanical so it turns all the time with the engine. There are some that are electrical fans which come off and on. From what I was reading, this one (mine) is mechanical. Moves with the engine, faster you are going, faster the fan runs.

it does spin with the engine but it is not fully engaged so it does not "pull" air very much, it's kinda like freewwheeling...the hotter it gets, the clutch engages and the fan will spin with the engine speed. You will hear it when it happens. Mine only does it on startup sometimes and then when the needle goes over half way. That is soon going to end when I install my E-FAN!!!!!!

Oh i see. I had no idea it was like that.. ok thanks for the info. I have only heard mine roaring like when i backup and first start as you were saying. I just assumed it ran all the time like that. It sounds cool too
