thanks for the info...ill go grab one tmr. I just made my intake also and used a combination of exhaust and intake pieces. I wrapped it all in cool wrap to help dissipate the heat and also painted it with engine paint to further help get rid of the heat. noticed a big improvement on sound and mileage.

For those who used exhaust piping, what did you use for couplers or did you get it custom bent? What about the sensor(s) that is supposed to be installed on the intake tube? How did you go about installing these? I was thinking of painting mine chrome to give it a little bling, good idea? Did you use 3" or 4" piping? which is better anyway? Planning on getting an exhaust in the near future and want the right components up front first. Thanks again guys for all the input!!!

I used intake couplers from advanced auto parts...a type of rubber. my intake is 3" piping. i just cut a little hole in one of the rubber couplers put the sensor through it and put some sensor safe cement to seal it up. been working fine for me even if its not the most professional way. if you paint it chrome though it might make the piping heat up so that might not be the best way. you can find some engine paint that will help dissipate the heat to an extent. i matched the engine paint on mine to the exterior of the truck...dark blue.
