All 4.7ls were cable throttles through 2007. The new 4.7l was introduced in 2008 with the DBW throttle body. Im not sure about 3.7ls. Its possible, but I know that engine hasnt changed much since the beginning of time ....

It is normal on the V8. If I am moving over 10 mile an hour, the engine will not drop below 1200. But slow down below that and it will drop back to the 800. In my case and my tune, 650

Maybe the engine computer tries to make shifts smoother by hanging the RPMs. Nowadays I barely pay attention to the tach - however, having the computer actively try to maintain 1000-1200 RPM on a cold startup is nice for finessing it in my snowy driveway.

2007 was the first year for electronic throttle on V6's, fact. My throttle body has a little servo on it, and my gas pedal mount looks like something from a video game - a black box with a wiring connector attached.

Agreed. My 07 is electronic. You cant rev the motor while you're under the hood. I can feel the lag in throttle too. Stinks.
