I tried all of that. Shift points did seam significantly lower with the throttle body. Hendrix might not notice it as much due to the meats he has on his truck. Not to assume, but Im guessing he needs to push the gas a little more than someone with smaller tires.

Yeah, Ill just explain quickly.

The shift schedule for our Dakotas is based off 2 things, Thottle Position Sensor % and Speed. If you look at the graphs on my transmission tuning site, youll see on the graph that the shift points move along the two axis labeled accordingly. For example, to take off conservatively, you may need 15% throttle and it will shift in to 2nd gear at 25MPH with the Superchips schedule. Now you put on your fastman. Due to less restriction, you only need to open the throttle 12% to get your vehical moving. At 12%, the graph has a shift point at a lower speed than 15%, so at 20MPH for example. Now, driving conservatively will yeild a shift point at 20MPH. Kind of confusing at first, but if you stare at it with a few beers, it will make sense.

If you want to change back to what the Superchips schedule is, its possible with tweeking of the schedule in the custom tuning. Of course, I could help you out with this if you needed a head start.

WOT will be the exact same because TPS% will be the same; 100%. Technically your shift points never change. Your shift points are the exact same, but your throttle positions are different so it feels different. If you opened the throttle the same amount with your stock throttle body, it would yeild the same shifts.

You sure can, if you have the $40 transmission tuning upgrade .... which if I recall you got it for free back in the day. You would simply bring the lines down on the TPS % side of the graph. Its a little more complicated than that though since you would be modifying your stock schedule. You cannot modify or see the values of Superchips schedule.

 

when I purchased my fastman, it was a quick 5 minute job, pulled the factory tb and installed after market tb, removed neg, battery cable and held key to start position for the 15 sec. once I installed neg cable, I started and stopped truck 3 times, on the third time I left truck running for the required 5 minutes so the computer will relearn the new air paramiters, tb has been on since early 2006 and have no issues at all, very good mod
