What are the people at Dodge drinking?
Well I don't feel too bad about what I paid for my just bought 06. 16000 plus ttt. 34k on the clock, v8, loaded laramine. When it comes to me buying vehicles the msrp or dealer invoice doesn't matter. That is just the price that some sucker paid for my vehicle new. I always hunt down nice used vehicles to buy. Last July I bought the wife an 08 Chevy Equinox sport. Nav, leather, moonroof, 30k miles. Perfect condition 19k. Sticker new was 36k which I would in no way have paid.
I got lucky when I bought mine a little over a year ago. I was specifically looking for an 05-07, with decent miles, in the $14K range. From what I had seen I thought I would have to settle for a V-6 SXT ext. cab. Luckily found a guy selling his on eBay that lived close to me, so I could go check it out in person. Turned out to be an 05 V-8 QC SLT w 42K miles, and in great shape. He was the original owner and paid $30K, said he only wanted to get what he still owed for it so....he sold it to me for only $10.5K! Needless to say, I was happy that day.
Ugh, I sooo wanted to get 4x4, but on almost anything it was like a $2-3K upgrade, so far I've been ok here in Ohio with just a good set of tires and about 400-500 lbs in the bed, but at 12.7K yeah that is still a steal, good find my man!!
Its rediculous what 4x4 V8 trucks go for. When I was looking, this was the only thing in my price range that was in the new body style. Dakotas even with high mileage like mine are still priced at $13k plus. There were very few selections for Rams in my price range too. Its hard to find a decent truck if you dont have $15k or more, IMO. And thats a truck that is newer and in good shape ..... you can get a beater for $1,500.
