What are the people at Dodge drinking?
Out of curiosity I went to the dodge web site and did a build of exactly my dakota, with the V8 and crew cab and the options I have. I have an 08, which I picked up for 18000, with 35000 miles on it, it looks new.
Anyway, the same truck in the bighorn package which is the cheapest of the two pack they are offering would be almost 32000 before tax and registration, so out the door it would be around 36000? That is absurd. yuo wonder why sales are so low, look no further than lack of marketing and the price.
Reality is that it is the only small/mid size truck on the market with a V8, in other words the only truck in its size that can actually pull a real trailer without straining itself....

my sticker was about 36 + tax and extras, of corse i didnt give them that much, but i still could have bought a low mile cummins mega cab for what i paid.... why i didnt, i'll never know....
that is the point, 10000 less for a used one with only 12000 on the clock, that is the way to go. As to not buying a 2500 size truck, well the selling point for me on these trucks is that they are a smaller truck that still has tons of power when compared to any of the other smaller offerings from any of the other companies. I drove a friend of mines 2009 tacoma, I pulled a small open trailer with a rhino on it, and you could really feel that the truck was not happy. not the case with this beast, I could pull that same trailer and the truck would not even know it was there!!!!
Arent all the prices on the website MSRP? Thats a big difference between what the dealer lists them for and what they are truly worth. And if you pay MSRP or what the dealer wants you definitely need to learn the finer arts of dealing or grow a backbone
Anyways mine was listed at 34k at the dealer, I ended up at $25500 out the doors... they wouldnt budge anymore.
