Default Damn electrical problems. One tail light is constantly on

Guys,

For some reason I have a tail light that wants to stay on. I have tried to replace it, but nothing changed. I ran with the bulb out and when I reinstalled it tonight, it was off. I just looked out side and it is back on. It is the passenger rear.

Any ideas?

The only thing that seems logical would be if you had a 7-pin trailer harness and snow or liquid was completing the circuit between the hot wire and the tail light. This would give you the one constant on. I assume its the "brake" light that is constantly on? Is the other side functioning fine?

id check that and also i think there is a wiring diagram in the workshop manuel that you can download on this forum. And you can look at were the short could be and narrow it down to your problem.

Something is grounding that's for sure... I would have suggested a bad bulb but you changed that out. The socket isnt fubared for some reason is it?

Thumbs down

I got under it and there was a 5 lb ice hunk hanging from it. I need to start tracing wires now.
