Default Regnath, any rust on your exhaust

Hey regnath, you have any rust on you MBRP exhaust? Mine is supposed to be totally t-304 stainless, and with less than 2500 miles on it, the passenger side over axle pipe is totally rusting. At the rate that it is going, it will be covered over by summer.

Curious if yours is doing the same.

I think now this is the final straw. Perhaps MBRP will send me a replacement piece, and if they do good on them. But first chance I get this pos system is coming off and getting sold so that I can do what I should have done in the first place. Get a custom system made with the exhaust from my ram.

I am gonna take pictures either tonight, or tomorrow. I am also gonna crawl under the truck and see if the rest is rusting already.

I know, right? But that is okay, what doesn't kill you makes you stronger, in this case I now have the knowledge to avoid MBRP in the future.

Oh and I crawled under the truck, and sure enough, all the other pipes except the muffler and intermediate pipe and tips are rusting also.

Sent MBRP and email, we shall see what they say. I also listed the system on craigslist too. We shall see what I can salvage from this debacle.

Are you sure you did not get the T409 version? That is made of Stainless steel also, but T409 has less chromium so it will surface rust.

I'm in the same boat. My Borla muffler has been on since 2005 and really started rusting last winter due to our Omaha, NE road conditions. This spring I will replace it.

total t-304 all the way back, or it is supposed to be. Like I said, it is for sale, I will put a custom one under it that has both sides of the engine exit just before the passenger rear wheel. It will also be a true dual.

No rust on mine, just some pretty blue colors from all the heat that overtook the pipe going to the muffler. The only things that have rusted are the clamps. Ive got about 15k on mine; it will be a year this March. Im guessing they gave you the T409 (if not aluminized) piping by mistake. I would call them for sure. T304 should show no surface rust at all. You have dual wall tips, right? Not rolled single walls? Either way, should be covered under their lifetime warranty.

Yeah I have contacted them, and if they send anything as a replacement, that's great but at this point, I am done with this company.

I mean realistically, I have a t304 full borla system on my jeep, and that system sees much worse conditions than my dak does. 223,000 on that system between dad and I and it still rinses off to stainless, no rust. The only thing that has rusted are the extra clamps that I put on it.

So you can imagine how dissappointed I am with the MBRP system comparatively.

Yeah, I understand. I would fight for a brand new system (say you will ship this one back) and then sell the new one before it even goes on the truck.
