Default Yes another tire question

So the new to me Dakota is gonna need tires in the next few months. I am going to put a 2" front leveling kit on. I have the factory 17x8 rims. I know I can put on 265/70 and have no rubbing issues. What are the largest 17" tires I can put on without rubbing? I have no plans to lift the rear. I would not be against a small space to go wider if needed. Thanks in advance!

You should be safe with 260/75 depending on the type of tire. I havent measured but I know my 1.5" brought my front end up enough to get a good amount of tire in there, but I havent measured. My 265/70s were clearing by 1/4" with the stock front end.

On a side note, measuring to the fenders, my front end sits 1" lower than my back end. A 2" leveling kit should bring your fender measurements within 1/2" of eachother before you do anything with the rear.

Are we talking 16's here? OP is 17's, big difference.

I was thinking of going with the Michelin LTX AT2 like I had on my Gen1. I really like those tires. I will probably go with 265/70/17 unless someone can chime in and tell me that a 75 would clear with no rubbing. I'd like to go slightly wider but I am sure that will result in rubbing. I don't mind a little fab to make it work but nothing that really alters the appearance.

265/70/17 is 31.6 inches
265/75/17 is 32.6 inches
So you will have a lot of rubbing on the 32s with or without levelling

My tires are 265/75/16 which is 31.6 inches with a levelling kit which has minor rubbing.

This is the site I used just type in the size and it'll give you the diameter of the diameter.

Yeah I have played with the calculator allot. Thanks for the response. It seems that the 70 series is what I will go with.

I was thinking about a 275/65 to get a wider tire without increasing the height.
