Worse than I expected, but I might be able to pull it off:

"On Chrysler's system, DealerConnect, the sales code RDZ (steering wheel radio controls) has to be added to your VIN. Just like when you buy a vehicle new and get dealer installed MOPAR accessories, so Chrysler covers a warranty complaint on those. I know someone (cough, cough me) who can do this.

Then the vehicle has to go to the dealer, and have the TIPM reconfigured. By doing this the StarScan has to communicate with Chrysler for your vehicles info and specs. When it does this now it will see that the vehicle has radio controls and will enable them. Presto Majesto!"

I'll make this my last question and sorry to bust into your thread like this, but so assuming I spent the 5 large on the Starscan tool would I have access to any required updates or code from Chrysler, or is it only available to dealers??

Nope! You would have only the updates that came on the device when you purchased it. All updates are done thru "dealerconnect".

Sorry to hear about your problems Hammond.

Was that you who got the last headlight for $35?

Good work! I hope they turn out to be nice. I noticed all of their products say they arent "insurance quality" and Im guessing they both came off the same 2007 Dakota. Even if they have some wear, they should match.

I am guessing it is because one (or more) of the locator pins are busted off/glued back on.
Lawyers these days
Now I just need to get a new painted front bumper and grill, then I can put the lights on

Thats what I am waiting for too

I think the black lights will look funny with the chrome grille and gray bumper. But even my lights were in "excellent" condition, and one of the pins is broken off along with the tip of the alignment screw. You dont need to put them on though, the only purpose they serve is to line up the light easier.

I made the appointment for Monday..1hr labor for "adding" the remote switches, programming my keyfob, and "adding" the overhead console (not needed as it worked as soon as I added it, but why not!).

Thanks to jkeaton for posting his build sheet...as that is where I got the option codes from

Will let you know the result...
