Default Time to lift her up. Need input on what to buy.

Hey guys, I know a lot of people have already asked about this, but now its my turn I guess.

I want to lift my truck a little. Nothing too huge, just enough to set her apart from the rest.

I want to keep a little bit of rake from the Rear to the Front.

As it stands now there is about a 2.5" difference in wheel clearance between the rear and front tires.

I would like to use a leveling kit and raise the front about 2-2.5" and 1-2" blocks in the rear

I've heard that it gets risky using leveling kits on our trucks let alone one that is 2-2.5". I've heard they can play havoc with the ball joints (which I just recently replaced). What say you?

As far as blocks for the rear, what brands are good, and what differences should I be aware of?

Lastly, as far as my thoughts of how I want to raise her up and how much, whats your opinion and if you would go another way, what would you, or did you do?

If you don't want a leveling kit the only other option is a body lift.... Our options are limited!!! Good Luck!!

No more than 2" in the front if you have 4x4. The ONLY option at the moment is the spacers (suspension wise). Usually with a 4x4, putting the 2" spacers in the front level the truck, then you could put some blocks in the back to keep the rake. Not much out there for us though. Only other option is a body lift like raven says.

My truck has the trailmaster leveling kit installed inside the coil. You can see in my sig pic how it looks.

Thanks guys, I dont have 4X4 unfortunately, so does that mean I can go up to 2.5" in the front? Thinking about it more, I dont want to go too much, plus Im prob gonna need those wheel well extenders, so I don't expose too much of the engine. Im gonna check out your trailmaster Dutch

BTW, dumb question, Ummm I cant find where on the site to upload a pic of my truck so when I post a comment it comes up each time, like most of you got.

I believe the 2wd can go higher without the issues 4x4 have. 2.5" - 3" kits are on ebay.

At the top of the page on the left, click on "User CP", once in the user cp, on the left side, click on "Edit Signature". In there is where you put a link to your pic or upload one. Be aware of the size limitations though. The moderator police only allow a certain size. Most of us use photobucket for pics, you can create an account for free, then copy the "IMG" code and paste it in the sig box.

Rough country has a kit that has 2.5 inch spacer for the front, 1.5 inch block for the back and also longer shocks for the rear. I've heard that the shocks are too long though and make a stiff ride. I have this same kit sitting in my house waitiing to be installed.

i currently run the rough country kit w/ blocks on my 4x4 and nothing has broken yet. there are some nasty clunks over most bumps though. i have been driving around with this kit on for more than 20,000 miles and nothing has fallen apart yet. i did install the RC shocks in the rear, but they truly are horribly stiff.
