I believe TSB work is covered by warranty. So if you're out of warranty, you have to pay.

Resurfacing this old post because it has some good pics of the shoes and hardware kit. My 2007, 4.7L, 4x4 Quad Cab Dakota has the same spring setup as shown in the pics above. I am replacing shoes and purchased an aftermarket (Raybestos H7359) spring kit but the upper return springs in the new kit have a different size, shape, and hook. Short question here is if someone can help me identify where to place each spring during assembly.

Details - I called Raybestos and they assured me it was the right kit. I looked at pics from a few other aftermarket kits and they have the same springs as the Raybestos. I then called a local Dodge parts desk and he said there was a part change but the new springs should fit. I asked about buying from him and he said it wouldn't matter that they'd be the same, so I asked if they had a diagram of where each spring would go but no luck there either. I looked at the 2005 service manual published to these forums and it only shows the older, single spring setup. I searched the threads and this was the closest hit. Below is a pic of the springs I have. They're arranged similar to how they would mount on the driver's side. Lower spring and adjuster springs are exact matches. The top most spring in the photo goes on the inboard side (behind shoes), while the one right below it goes on the outboard side.

It looks like the blue spring should replace the outboard spring, but it has a different hook on one end and that makes it a bit shorter that the original. The white spring is about the same length as the original outboard spring, but the hook on the coiled springs side has a shorter lead and the coiled springs themselves are smaller (diameter) that the original. And clearly, the inboard spring is way longer than the two replacements. The original inboard spring hooks can be seen coming through the shoes on the outside edges near the pads from the back in the first pic above in this thread. My guess is that the new inboard spring is going to either hook into the same holes as the original outboard springs, or I'm going to have to stretch the holy hell out of it to reach (which seems impossible).

Sorry for the long post, but I wanted to describe as much as I could. Thanks in advance for any help that is provided.

I just went through the same confusion with with mine.I just replaced mine. I reused the longest "hidden" spring that goes behind the shoes and replace the others. I used the white green and red replacements.
