Default New rotors and pads in tomorrow, any advice?

Ok, UPS says my pads and rotors from brakeperformance.com will be here tomorrow. I plan on completing the install on Sunday. Anything I should look out for, purchase (beyond what i got off of brakeperformance), or be prepared for when I do this? It will be my first time changing pads and bleeding brakes, but I will be doing this with my brother in law who grew up working on Jeeps and trucks and has experience doing so.

There might be sheet metal nuts holding the rotors on. Take them off. You won't need them. Remove the calipers. The rotors will be stuck with rust to the hubs. Spray WD40 behind the rotor, at the hub and TAP the rotor off. Don't hammer them too hard because you could damage the hub.
After you get it all back together, make sure to follow the break-in instructions.
If you bought EBC rotors/pads, you'll notice a big improvement.

Don't forget to grease up the caliper bolts per the factory manual....

When bleeding the brakes start with the Right Rear First, Left Rear Second, Right Front Third and Left Front last.

This will allow you to purge the air from the brake lines so you don't get a spongy peddle.

Good Luck.

Rick – thanks for the advice about the sheet metal nuts. I knew about those and will throw them out during the process. I’ll be sure to “gently” tap the rotor off of the hub J

Jkeaton – thx for the words. I’m hoping for a noticeable improvement!

Hammond – I will check the manual for the caliper bolts!

Eric – I will take a look!

Keith – good info to know! I will definitely do it in that order.

Perhaps think about painting the calipers while you have them off? I was boring and went with black but it sure looks better than rust color.
