2008 Dodge Dakota Power Train Service Bulletin 222555

NHTSA: Action Number: 10026168 Service Bulletin Number: 222555
Report Date:
Jul 12, 2008Component:
Power Train
Summary: Chrysler/dodge/jeep: flash:diagnostic trouble code, dtc p0740 or p1798 and automatic transmission shift improvements 1-2 or 2-3 cold shift improvements. *pe
Does anyone think this could be the cause of rough shifting in a 2008 with the 4 speed? I had a buddys dad who works at the local dealership look at it, no fluid problems or leaks. He is talking about reprogramming it. Anyone have similar problems?

It throws no codes or lights or anything.

I have the 08 3.7 Big Horn with the SAME EXACT PROBLEM! but haven't looked much into it, mine shifts hard (not hard hard but you can notice it) from 1-2, every time if i accelerate hard, and when its cold out it shifts rough from 2-3 (rarely) not all the time...other than that, i haven't contacted the dealer about or looked into what the problem with it is.

There really isn't a way to show it in a video, you have to be in the truck to feel it.

I guess it's better to have a hard shift than a soft shift. If it's a soft shift the clutch packs wear out quicker.

Mine will hold 3rd gear from 35 to 55. Won't shift no matter what I do...
