Quote: Nick, If it helps you out at all, next year I'm stuffing 285/75/16s on my truck with out a body lift. I will document all the trimming and such.

Guys, it can be done. The catch is, you have to be willing to trim quite a bit. I can safely say that the factory mud flap thingys will either be hacked beyond all reason, or removed completely. You will have to trim the inner fender liner (say, about 8" up), in front and behind the tire.
Thanks JP! I might just wait and see how yours turn out. Is that all of the trimming you think??

Exactly how bad? If is at only full lock then it should be fine

has anyone ever attempted to put the ram 20's on a 3rd gen? I came across a set that have tires already on them...they have 285's though and from what I'm reading I will spend a lot of time cutting plastic this weekend if I use them...what do you all recommend I put on these wheels if the 285's will not work? I think they are 9" wide but I'm not sure...is this what they usually are? I know I'm asking a lot, but I dont want to get into something way over my head just for some wheels.

There are a couple of us who have Ram 20's on our trucks, myself included. The 20's are indeed 9" wide. I have 285/50/20's on them, which of course included trimming of the front splash guard and wheel well liners. Not too much trimming really, but you will need at least a leveling kit up front, the rear can remain stock.

If the 285 tires on those wheels are any bigger than a 50 series sidewall, don't even think about using them.
