Default CEL question

Well, about 2 days ago I started up my truck and pretty much threw it in drive and took off like I robbed a bank. I only went around the corner and noticed the brake light, SVC 4WD, and CEL lights on. The Dak was running fine though, shut it down & started it back up and only the CEL light was lit. Still running great, then pulled the codes (3).

1. U1120 - Lost wheel distance message
2. U0121 - Lost communication with anti-lock brake module
3. U0184 - Lost communication with radio

Honestly, I think it was all just a fluke, seeing as how I really didn't give the truck any time to do a self check, so to speak. I cleared the codes and no more lights since, again the truck runs great. I've been spinning the tires and giving the ABS a good workout and still no lights.

Now the real, and hopefully simple question. How long would a CEL take to return?

The reason I am asking is.....The Black Cat Gauge face has arrived. I would really like to be sure that no CEL will return before I install it.

And I know you guys want to see it, so...goodbye green, hello red!

No lights as of yet. Hopefully I'll get the gauges in this week.

Can't wait to see it installed on your truck.

I had the exact same thing happen to me...except I just started it up, did not even drive it yet...same exact codes!

I just got done using the SC programmer, drove it to work and parked it. All I did was try to play around with tire sizes...
I came out from work several hours later and started the truck...I got the same codes as you, same CEL light! In addition, I noticed that the AC/Heat controls were not working as well.

I set it back to stock, that cleared everything but the CEL. I drove 5 miles and then pulled the battery cable off and let it sit. THE CEL light never came back on. I put back my 91 program, and put back the stock tire size (was trying to fine tune the speedo).

This only happened once, and has not come back...it was last July...

Did you happen to just use the SC? Just curious....!

No, I haven't hooked up the tuner in a while. I'm not sure if I used the A/C since it happened, hopefully that works. And now that you mention it, I guess the codes appeared on start up, I only noticed it when I got around the corner. Let's hope it the last time we see those codes.

Oh, I just remembered...my speedo did not work until I pulled the battery cable...might not be the exact same thing, but close!

I just hope it is not a flaky TIPM....I have heard of weird CEL/behavior when they go bad...
