Default '06 Dakota, clicking and whining noise

2006 Dakota R/T. 4.7 Liter HO

First of all thanks in advance for any help or advice.

Over the last few weeks I have noticed a clicking noise coming from the front end of the truck that is progressively getting worse. It is not an engine knock sound but a lighter clicking noise that seems to be from the passenger side of the engine compartment from what I can tell when driving.

Then just over the weekend I am getting a loud whining noise when turning the wheel sitting still or moving.

Any ideas on what may be causing this??

Thanks again

I was thinking CV joint...I just had the intermediate shaft replaced on the steering column because of the stutter steering and that problem is resolved. I will have to take it in to have the bearings and CV joint checked next.

Is the whining from your power steering pump? Or is it from a wheel bearing? Lift that side of your truck and spin the wheel, does the bearing feel grainy? Grab the tire from the top and bottom then pull from the top and push on the bottom, is there any slack? If so its probably the wheel bearing.
