Default Driver Footwell / Carpet is Always Wet

It's been raining in NY for about two weeks straight, and the carpet in front of the driver seat in my truck is constantly wet. It's not from my footwear. I've dried it out by running the heat on full blast, and the next day is almost sopping wet.

I think it's obvious there is a water leak, but I can't seem to figure out from where. Has anyone else had an issue like this?

Eventually, assuming summer comes and dries things out (not looking like a guarantee at this point ), I will probably lift the carpet and start soaking the outside of the truck with a hose to find it.

Look here, third post down. I have the same problem. Just another example of why these things are a POS.

When life, or in this case Dodge, gives you a lemon...made lemonade.

A little water does not a POS make. I got under the truck and it appears to have sheet metal cutouts near the rocker panels. All but one are covered with super heavy duty cloth tape, and one wasn't. I'm pretty sure that's the source. I'm going to get some form heavy duty silicone sealant and pump it anywhere it will go.

We just had the exact same issue fixed in our 05. Same spot, drivers side floor. We had it to multiple body shops who each thought it was something different. One had me replace the weatherstrip, another thought our door was misaligned, neither ended up being the issue. Still got water when it rained. Finally the last body shop referred us to a guy called the Water Doctor, based out of Pittsburgh who comes to town once a week. He fixed it first try. He replaced the front and rear splash shields and we have not had a drop of water since then. It has rained pretty hard a few times since we had it fixed and the carpet is as dry as can be.

Good luck as this is a very frustrating issue. Hope my post helps!

what splash shields are you referring to? The splash guards in the wheel wells (mud flaps)?

Not splash guard, splash shield. It's kind of a fender liner, I guess. Here's what it is(this is not my auction just an example)
