Need help!
Anybody have a picture of the top strut mount on the passenger side of their dak with a top mount leveling kit. My truck is rattling on the passenger side. Ball joints are good and I don't have a sway bar. I think the passenger side strut is blown. The hex head on the top of the strut protrudes through the hole in the top mount and rubs on that hole. It doesn't do this on driver side, I have to stick my finger down in that top mount to feel the hex head. Did any of that make sense to anybody?
My passanger side rattled bad over every bump after I got my struts installed. Replaced the strut mounts and it fixed the problem. Wish I wouldve known that before I paid the labor for them to rip everything apart twice .....
These are both from the drivers side but i dont think it matters....

Which part exactly is the strut mount?
Strut mount goes on top of the coil, held in place by the shock nut. I have my old ones if you want a picture of what goes bad.

Yes please take a picture. It feels like the rubber on the top of the strut has been pushed up through the coil spacer.

The mount can just be replaced. I put brand new strut in, found out the mount was bad about 700 miles later, and had it ripped apart again. If you are running factory struts still however, I suggest you replace them because its one extra step to swap the struts out. The whole assembly needs to be removed from the vehical and compressed to replace the strut mount.
