After seeing more and more painted headlights, it has got me thinking that I should go ahead and do mine because it is something I have wanted to do for a while. I think I have seen most of the options, but I would like to paint the inside bezel. I have ran across before a thread saying that the glue will not melt, but I couldn't find it. Are there any suggestions on painting the inside bezel by pulling apart the headlights after baking in the oven? I have looked at multiple types of vehicles that it has been done on, but am trying to get info on ours. Any thoughts are appreciated. Thanks!

I can't give you any info on baking our lights apart but I see you found my eyelid thread. It only took me a couple hours to spray outside and the light output was not affected.

i would strongly not recommend you do this. a buddy of mine took apart his headlights on his 350z thats all done up to have custom blue airbrishing behind them, and installed some aftermarket projectors. i know our trucks dont have projectors but he said he wish he'd never done it. to seperate them you have to put them in the oven to melt the adhesive holding them together, and as a result it spiderwebbed all the clear lense and he literally wont drive the car at night anymore as a result of the silver not refleting any of the light. he also installed hid headlights but with no increase of light output. just my 02. cents.

The ram guys do it all the time. Start with a lower oven temp that way you dont melt the lense its self.
I plan on making my own night runner style lights in the near future.

I wanted to bake apart mine but looking at how they are held together, I dont believe the silver border is paintable, unless you do it on the outside. Instead I am having my nightrunners lightly smoked, but the guy is about 3 months out for return time, so it will be a while. lol

i baked mine and painted them....NOT recommended! it is nearly impossible to do without doing damage! i put a small crack in one and really butchered the back of both of them....they use a TON of glue on these things!if you do try it, bake them for a while and really turn it up...i did mine at 275 for 10 mins and it did ZERO...i would go as hot as u can 350? maybe? just keep checking the lenses and see if theyre gettting soft...thats how hot u need to get this super duper glue they use! then pry your *** of like opening a welded shut clam shell, NO FUN! if your painting them black just get nightrunner ones of ebay.... good luck and wear gloves!!!!!!!
Thanks for all the input. I am just going to order the cheap knockoff night runner ones and paint the gray portion. Should I get the ones with amber or clear reflectors? any opinions?
