I recently noticed a different noise from my motor...a ticking when I first start it, before it warms up...I switched to synthetic ( mobile1)

No. Just regular Quaker state oil. Would I be better off going to synthetic oil?

Not lifters, valve lash adjusters.

Valve Lash Adjuster noise is very normal. And more noticeable with the lighter weight oil (that you should be using anyway). Dodge recommends 5w-20.

Valve Lash Adjusters seem to be a common thing in our engines. I know mine have been making noise and I'm using 5W20. I thought it was my valve springs at first because that's what they told me and while I was deployed I just decided to buy new H/O springs lash adjusters and H/O cams...why not? The heads were coming out anyway and so were the cams so it seemed like a good idea to upgrade at the time...to this day I haven't gotten the time to put them in but hopefully in the next three weeks I can make some time.

There is almost no such thing as "synthetic", its all dead dinosaurs. Changing from synthetic to conventional will nit harm your engine. New oil is better than old wirn out oil.
