Autolite Plugs
I have been reading all the post on here about the autolite 3293plugs and how good they are. So I figured I would try to find a set for my 08 4.7. I looked on Autolite's web site and all they have a 5224's for the 3.7 v6. I also have looked previously on E3's website for plugs and the only thing they list is for the 3.7. Does anyone know if there are plugs out there for the 08 4.7?
I just replaced my plugs with some NGK's. The plugs I pulled out were Autolight 5224's platinum's. As reported here, platinum is not the way to go. I was really surprised how quite my engine got after I changed to copper plugs. I never really noticed it before but then again my wife's care is a 1.8 turbo passat and that engine is always clicking. Can't wait to get rid of that car.
The 3.7 never changed except for the DBW and you can use the 3923s in there. If you want the same hear range in NGKs, its the 4644 plug. NGK is made in the USA, Autolite is that chinese crap.

Well i tried the 3293 in my 08 4.7 and they dont work...... they r too short, And my truck ran like crap with them..... i ended up going with the pulstar copper plugs and so far they r great.
I just put NGK 4644's in my 3.7L, gapped to 0.042" (or as close as I could get), and it runs great. Nice smooth idle, and with fresh oil and a new air filter, brought back a little grunt. Highly recommended plugs.
