H/O Cams going in
Alright so next weekend is the time my new cams will be in. I have waited long enough. My question is that what is the most annoying part to do while taking the heads off? I've looked over and have a good idea on my battle plan, but I just want to hear what you guys think so I could refine my plan to make it go more smoothly and easily. Let me know what you guys think about anything. I'll probably be getting new spark plugs regardless if they are good or not, what things should I check and/or replace other than the usual gaskets while the heads are off? My repair manual should finally be here on Tuesday so I'll read up on that and see what that says...but Haynes and Chilton have really declined these past few years...maybe because they are the same thing now???
Thunder I just checked out those links in your sig and man I am truly impressed with those cams, I want to do them right now...I also went to your youtube link and it's awesome that someone else listens to Dubstep haha
Friday after work I'm going to start. I've had this planned for a few weeks now, I was just getting all my tools and everything prepped for it (that I realize I no longer need now). Pictures and all will be coming though.
So I found some neat information for those who do not have access to an air compressor like me and want/need to change their valve springs (unlike me now). I'll post the link later as I am on my governmnet computer at the moment and cannot access the site...but I will give credit where credit is due.
First you need to find a nice soft rope that's thin enough to fit through the spark plug hole. Feed said rope into the cylinder making sure you always have enough rope to fill the cylinder at halfway with enough sticking out of the spark plug hole to grab a hold of. Next you start to compress the cylinder and as you do the rope will compress and pretty much be stuffed in the cylinder holding the valves up so you can freely take off the valve springs without the valves falling into the cylinder. Replace the springs, lower the piston and take the rope out and continue on to the next cylinder. As long as it's soft I don't see why any damage would be caused in the cylinder at all...but if anyone has any info either to piggy back on this or say why it's not a good idea, please do so.

Yeeessssss, just what the doctor ordered...but I'm sure I'll want more powa! Just waiting for my friend to get back from TDY because he owes me money and I'll be getting a CAI out of him in exchange for the cash.
to really feel the full effects of the HO cams intake tb and free flowing exhaust is a must. same with SCT tuner. if you think ho cams gives you power the SCT tune just amplified the power x2.
dont let anyone convince you that ho cams are enough they MUST be paired with SCT
