Question Need HELP 05 dakota keeps stalling

i have a 05 dakota, we have replaced the fuel pump, and the crankshaft position sensor. something is still shutting down the fuel pump, it will start(sometimes) and will idle a little bit, then the enging dies, sometimes while driving down the road it will die. after it dies there is not any fuel in the fuel rail..... Any Ideas?????

Could be lots of things. Is the check engine light on?

Bad fuel pump, try banging on the underside of the tank after it quits.
Dirt in the fuel tank clogging the pump.
Maybe a corroded connection at the pump, pull the connector and make sure its clean. Fuel pump relay on the fritz.
Bad chasis ground.
Pcm not providing ground.

Take it to a reputable shop and have them diagnose it.

do our trucks have the inertia switch like some cars have that shuts off the fuel pump?

The engine light is not on, doesn't show any codes when scanned.

I was told that there is NOT a switch that turns off the fuel pump

The fuel pump has been changed, along with the filter, and crank.p sensor, fuses have been checked. some days it will start, and then die, some days it won't start at all.

My first thought would be the fuel pump relay. But a loose electrical connection teaming up with the rough idle or road vibration is another possibility. That could be a tough one.

The fuel pump should have within + or - .5 volts of the battery.
