Will this tuner work on a 2005? What is the name of the tuner? Thanks in advance.
The coverage listed under the Hypertech Max Energy Full Production release last week shows 2007 thru 2010 Dakota, Durango, Nitro, Ram, Grand Cherokee, Commander, Liberty, and Raider at this time but does not go back to the years prior.
I got my. It corrected the speedo. As for power I am throwing it on the dyno to see how much power the beta version made. They only thing that mine wouldnt do is raise the rpm's I am calling them tomorrow to let them know. I still have to test the speed limiter. It does a great job reading and clearing code. The truck feels faster but having my speedo read correctly now is playing with my mind lol.
I guess I will find out for sure when it is one the dyno.
I heard from Hypertech that they have picked up some pretty good numbers on the dyno.
Keep us posted on what you get on the Dyno **we showed 24 HP and 24 TQ with Regular 87 Octane here.
What is the difference between the 2005 and 2007 3.7L daks? As far as this tuner working? Would it really be that difficult for it to work on a 2005?
The differences are in the ECM computer programming which changes with different years and from the Mfg. calibration file changes so different years may have the same engine displacement but are not the same when it comes to programming.
Also Note : Correction on the coverage I listed:
1. The Dodge Durango 3.7L coverage is 2007 thru 2009
2. The Mitsubishi Raider 3.7L coverage is 2007 thru 2009
All others were 2007 thru 2010 as listed
Just answered my own question - a local shop in NY as PN 52001 for $379, and the #53001 e-Con one, which doesn't have any tire size, rev limit, etc functions, for $329.
Not bad, but out of my budget for now...espically when you have to spin up to 4500+ RPM to see the most gains. Where I do my daily driving, you're only getting 9-11 HP.
