Going to change the fluid in the rear end next weekend. i saw a rear diff gasket but i saw some people on here just used gasket maker. Opinions? would it be wrong to use both? if people used the gasket maker which one in particular?

I typically use *both* a paper gasket *and* RTV silicone (on one side of the gasket only).

This gives me a good seal AND allows the cover to come off again later without ruining the gasket.

Why do I care about getting in and out of my axles so often? I'll change the gear lube whenever my axles have been submerged for any length of time. Just in case. It's cheaper than a ring and pinion.

Just my 2/100 of a buck. YMMV.
