And with the superchips, you can return the truck to stock if you have to take it in for warranty work.

Is there any compelling reason to get the "Cortex" (3950) as opposed to the "Flashpaq" (3865)? I'm having difficulty determining the precise differences between the two.

Just get the Flashpaq. The Cortex comes with a 2 year power trane warranty but if you read reviews about companies the do this they always find ways of getting out of it.

Also I have not heard of one person that has had an issue with the power trane using superchips.

I saw that, but didn't really understand it.

I mean, what's the relationship? If I tear up a driveshaft while four-wheeling, what does that have to do with the SuperChips computer-tweaking gadget? Why would SuperChips warrant (or claim to warrant) something so unrelated to their product? Are people truly concerned that they'll make *so much more power* that they'll start breaking other power train parts?

I think I observed that the Cortex also includes some features pertinent to diesels. And that it supports tuning/tweaking more than one vehicle. (Perhaps limited to two?)

That's something that wasn't immediately apparent to me: i.e., that this Flashpaq thing gets "paired" to a specific vehicle. I can't, for example, buy one and use it to tweak a half-dozen different Dodge vehicles. In this respect, it's unlike almost any other "tool" in your box.

the multi-vin capability is only for Ford and GM, and it will cost you, it's not free, it's an add-on feature, similar to the trans package for the 3865. The warranty covers the engine and transmission only.

Pffffh! best colors, ya, right. Mango Tango Pearl is the least, a, aahmmm, err... masculine paint name, but it is the coolest color, and it hides dirt well to boot.

Haas, nice truck! I love the chrome bumper and chrome grill/headlight surrounds on the Laramie package. If i could get a good deal on those items I'd put them on in a minute. I really don't like the silver painted grill/headlight surrounds on mine (BigHorn pkg.). The leather is a nice option also.

You have the XXR option bedrails. There are some Mopar options for them, bike racks, ski racks, divider, bed extender, toolbox etc. The downside is no aftermarket folding hard bed cover will work with them, as far as I've determined. There is a Mopar cover, but in addition to the cover you need to order the Mopar $100 rail system to make it work. The best price on the two Mopar items I've found so far is $832.87 before tax.

Good link. Thanks.

Seems to also cover only damages that are provably CAUSED BY a defective or failed SuperChips tuner.

The warranty wasn't really a priority to me. I was mainly trying to understand the FUNCTIONAL differences between the Cortex and the Flashpaq, since the difference was only about $50.
