Default Monroe Sensatrack

I have been looking but most of the store sites don't say if the price is per pair or per shock. Over $100 seems a bit much per strut and per rear with the coil helpers. Anyone know a good price on these?

The fronts will cost you about $100 each. The rear coil over style is sold as a pair fir around $120. Well worth the upgrade from factory.

Most places sell them as an individual

So I am looking at around 320 plus tax. Are they hard to install? Also, or the rear ones with the coil spring worth it? Does it make the ride much harsher adding the extra coils to something that already has leafs or do they only kick in when you put a load on the back?

Do you do any towing or hauling on a regular basis? The coilovers wont ride as nice but give better performance when loaded.

I paid @70 each for my Monroe front struts from Rock Auto. It is not recommended you install the front struts yourself unless you have experience doing that sort of thing. Compressing the springs can be dangerous. I paid $325 to have mine installed and that included lifetime alignment and also a tire rotation/balance. Rears can be done youself fairly easily. 2 bolts. I did mine in about 10 minutes per side, didn't even jack the truck up.

I got mine at advance auto. They came as a pair, for around $125. Don't notice them much unloaded (except that the springs occasionally strum my muffler pipes.)

When I loaded 5-6 giant logs in the back, I did notice that there was no *** dragging at all, nice & level, and handled great heavily loaded at highway speed.

Pulling a trailer I do but almost always with my suburban. But I am wondering if the dakota would work as a back up and should just do the shocks with springs in case.

Here is a picture of my trailer. Since the picture I have added airbag assist to the rear of the suburban.

Most of the time snowmobiles and gear. The trailer is aluminum. Fullly loaded I figure around 6000lbs and 2990lbs empty.
