Throttle body helped the idling a ton was really gummed up. Tranny still acting the fool though. Here's the deal shifts fine light throttle maybe a little shudder under load going to over drive. At half throttle shifts great. Full throttle from standstill spins tires takes off and then after the first shift it doesnt go above 4000 rpm and won't shift unless you lighten the throttle to at least quarter throttle. Really aggravating because the truck runs so great otherwise any clues I mean shouldn't the thing be throwing codes?

Easiest and cheapest thing to do in an attempt to fix the problem would be swap the filters to OEM. Aftermarket filters (and the old Mopar filters) sometimes allow the torque converter to drain, causing the transmission to feel like its slipping. There were TSBs in 2005 for slipping transmission problems in these trucks because the filters installed from the factory didn't seal properly. I had my filters swapped, went for a year with no problems. Had the shop do a yearly fluid swap and filter change, and about 4 months later my truck would slip in drive after being parked over night, but only for the first 100 yards or so after taking off from the first stop. The pressure sensor was tested and had some slow readings, so we swapped it and still slipped. Dropped the pan, put Mopar filters in and not another problem.

I know I have a question (and this sounds stupid).. I have a 2005 dakota with automatic transmission and 4 wheel drive and I'm wondering where is this filter for the transmission?? I have been looking in the books and I am not seeing it mentioned anywhere.. I'm wondering if I need to change the fluids and the filter and see if this fixes my trucks rough shifting and the occasional grind when shifting from park to reverse.. I love my dakota but at 56,000 miles it just seems like I have put more money into it than any other vehicle that I have owned..
