Default Help!!! Dodge Dakota tranny issues

New to the forum guys thanks for the advice ahead of time.
Here's the issue; transmission feels like it's slipping under light acceleration
It does better under heavy acceleration but under full acceleration
It won't shift until you let off a little. No mils currently or no stored
Codes
The truck; 2006 Dakota crew cab 4x2, 80k on the ticker, 4.7 v8, bone stock

Any help would be appreciated, also I have the filters for the transmission
And fresh ATF+4 doing it tomorrow, also going to clean throttle body

Any other pointers/tips appreciated.

I had the service done at the dealership but everyone else here says to make sure you buy the tranny filters from dodge. Only use the oem part

I've been using an aftermarket filter for almost a year now, without any issues.

A fluid and filter change will probably cure that slipping feel. If by full acceleration you mean foot to the floor, wide open throttle, then yeah it won't shift till you lift or it hits max rpm's which is 5500 I think.

I hate Dodge transmissions. ATF & filter are the easy part. Adjusting bands is picky, adjusting TV cable is picky, and solenoids can be functioning well enough not to throw a code, but not functioning properly.

No bands to adjust in mine, hardest part was the cross member, I have AWD though.

Forgot, don't use a gasket get RTV. No leaks and sticks the pan on so you can easily tighten the bolts with out hand tricks or help

I don't know what you guys are doing wrong that experience leaky gaskets, but mine all seal up fine, when using a gasket.

I just use RTV because I trust it, no problems in my 73 plymouth and I think it has the original gasket. RTV is nice because I get it free from the dealer too.

I use as little rtv as possible. Too much effort to clean up next time. When I do use it, I use The Right Stuff It ages well, and seals good.
